This
route of 15 days will allow you to make a thorough discovery of the
desert. We shall oscillate between sand dunes, villages of the desert,
nomads' camps, oasis and any other diversities which the desert
offers to us.
After this circuit, you will have assimilate the life in the desert. Its fauna, its flora and of course, its magnificence!

Description of the tour
Day 1 - Nouakchott - Atar
Reception
at the airport of Nouakchott by our team. Administrative formalities and transfer
towards our hotel in Atar. Night in the hotel.
Day 2 - Atar – Timinit
Departure
by 4WD towards Timinit: picnic on the way. One day of 4WD : the road is
tarred from Atar to Ras Taref, then we shall have a track from Ras
Taref to Timinit. On the evening, meeting with our camel
drivers and bivouac.
Day 3 - Timinit - Maaden
We
begin to walk in the oued (river) of Timinit with its
beautiful sand dunes. Magnificent landscape of Ouagchouda! Arrived at
Maaden, splendid point of view because it's perched at the top of a
mountain, we shall bivouac there.
Day 4 - Maaden - Jwali Tirabane
Visit
of the village of Maaden and meeting with its population. Maaden
is a village with a marabout who have a political functioning very close to
the communism. We shall go to the palm groves of Agmeimine, then continue to raise towards Tirabane to bivouac and admiring the valley
Blanche.
Day 5 - Tirabne - Château
We
shall come down in the premises of the valley Blanche, with its big
locust trees and its beautiful mountains. We arrive in
the afternoon at the Castle, the big rocky bar, where we shall
discover its rock paintings and its magnificent panorama of
the summit of its mountain. Beautiful descent at the end of the day to
install, finally, our bivouac in neighborhood.
Day 6 - Château – Tacheudreumt
We continue in the beautiful oasis of Adrar. Visit of the village of Toungad, the village of typical Mauritanian huts who offering us a surprising landscape. These huts get involved in the many palm groves of neighborhood. It is a quite small village, but its population explodes during Guetna (picking of dates in July-August). Delightful of the local culture!
Gone back up to the east to picnic at the foot of the Big Castle. When the temperature go down, we rise up to the plateau of Tacheudreumt. Bivouac next to the well of the plateau.Day 7 - Tacheudreumt - Terjit
Small stroll on the plateau in the morning. Then we eat before beginning the descent up to the magic source of Terjit: bathing, freshness, peace and rest!
Day 8 - Terjit - Tivoujar

Day 8 - Terjit - Tivoujar
By
crossing the beautiful valley of Tezint, we shall arrive at the pass of Tivoujar. An inescapable place of Adrar, which
offers you a vast panorama of multitude of oueds. The ideal is to
establish its camp on the heights.
Day 9 - Tivoujar - Legleitatt
In a varied landscape, between the mountain and the sand, we shall continue our road to discover the zone of Legleitatt. We shall find its palm groves and its village. Installation of the bivouac at the beginning of the dunes of Amatlich.
Day 10 - Legleitatt - AmatlichThe dunes of Amatlich in front of us, we start the ascent up to their summits. Of above, turn your head: on one side the oued and the palmerais of Elmadah, on the other side the plateau of Erchet. Unforgettable landscape! Bivouac in the dunes of Amatlich.
Day 11 - Dunes d’Amatlich - Elmadah
By leaving the dunes in the morning, we shall go to appreciate the freshness of the village and the palmerais of the Oasis of Elmadah. We take advantage of it to make our provisioning of water before leaving in the direction of Azoueiga. We shall continue our walking and install our bivouac at the top of a plateau encircled by a sea of dunes.
Day 12 - Amatlich - oasis d'Azoueiga
We finish the road until Azoueiga. Picnic in the guelta (puddle) of the oasis. Take advantage of the freshness of the guelta for a repair nap. Once woken, direction the big dune of Azoueiga to crash our camp.
Day 13 - Azoueiga - Chenar AzragLast day of walking, direction Chenar Azrag. We cross the dunes of white sand. Picnic in the palmerais of El Ouja. Bivouac between both rocks of Chenar Azrag, always in the sand.
Day 14 - Chenar Azrag - Nouakchott
Our 4x4 comes to find us to join a hotel in Nouakchott. Visit of the craft port and the famous fish market of Nouakchott. According to your desires, we can roam a little in capital. Meal from the end of stay to the hotel.
Jour 15 - Depature
On the way towards the airport for the great departure.
The stages of the circuit can be to modify by the guide according to the climatic data.

There is no TOILETS in the desert!
- The meals: they will be taken in common under the tent or around the fire. The cook prepares his meals with local products.
