Walking with camels, sometimes along a camel, it's a week exotic in the
sand, the rocks darkened by the sun, palm grove, silence and calm, sleep
under the stars in the middle of the desert and meeting with the nomad
population ... everything to forget the frenzy of the occidental life.
Description of the tour
Day 1 : Reception
at the airport by our team, administrative formalities and transfer
towards our hotel in Atar.
Day 2 : After the load of our vehicles, heading for the oued (river) of Timinite. In the pass of Ntourvine, meeting with the team of camel driver who will accompany you in the whole of your circuit. First bivouac in dunes.

Day 3 : At
the beginning of camel safari direction the West, to
cross an immense area of sand. Picnic in surrounding of
the palmerais of Jouwlat. The afternoon, before our arrival to the big
dunes of Lekleiwa for the bivouac, we cross the village of Wekcheda.
Day 4 : Early
in the morning we leave in the direction of El Maaden. Picnic and
meeting with the villagers. Our camel drivers' caravans set off towards
the palmerais of Agmimine where we shall Bivouac.
Day 5 : Woken
in the sunrise, the camel drivers load their camels
and, at the rate of the caravan, the group crosses the mountains of
Imert in the direction of the palmerais and the dunes of Tireban. Picnic to Galb
El Marab in the valley Blanche. After the nap, departure towards
the first Castle where we shall admire the neolithic engravings. We finish the ascent of the Castle to arrive at the top of its
biggest dune to attend the sunset. We come down to bivouac at the
foot of the dunes.
Day 6 : After
the breakfast, continuation of the hike in the
direction of the most beautiful oasis of the Adrar: Toungad. After its visit, we shall continue towards the second Castle to
picnic in the oued, at the foot of the mountain. We continue our walk in this oued, admire locust trees,
Balanites aegyptiaca (the date palms of the desert), the apple trees of
sodome... Bivouac in the oued of Choumoute.
Day 7 : Early in the morning, we leave towards the big dunes of Nouakhane which
we cross and where we picnic. In the afternoon we go to the
palmerais of Meileh who is the end of the white valley.
Day 8 : We
leave the camel drivers to go back up in our 4x4,
in direction of the magic source of Tergite
stuck between two mountains. Picnic in the shadow of these
palmerais and bath reviving in the natural bathtubs. For the trekkeurs
of the winter, the water of the source is warm (but
fresh the summer)! At the end of the afternoon, we find
Atar for a visit of the city and its market. Night in hotel Inimi.
Day 9 : Departure for the Airport of Nouakchott. Visit of the port and the famous fish market of the capital, if your ticket return allows it.
The stages of the circuit can be to modify by the guide according to the climatic data.
Price of the tour
The
price for this stay is 770 € for a single person. The
prices are then decreasing according to the number of person
(for example, for a couple, the price is 500€ per person).

Accommodation: all the bivouacs are made usually under the
stars. A big traditional Moritanien tent will be risen. If you wish
one tent, prevent in advance. In the winter, plan a hot sleeping bag as well as a pants and a fleece, nights are fresh in the desert.
We shall have some nights in local hotel.
There is no TOILETS in the desert!
- The meals: they will be taken in common under the tent or around the fire. The cook prepares his meals with local products.
