The duration, the circuit, and all the activities are flexible. Give us your preferences, our experimented guides shall build a stay adapted to your desires!
The main activity will be the management of dromedaries. To live as a nomad, you have to become a camel driver! You will learn to go up dromedaries, to install and to maintain the equipment of traditional harness, to take care of a herd. Everything to manage your own herd!
You will also learn the traditional Mauritanian cooking: pancakes get plastered in the sand, the Moritanian couscous and the earthenware cooking pots, the rice-bean... And, of course, the tea!
Every
evening, we shall also have to take up the camp. Analysis of the
weather and geographical conditions to choose the best place, the
assembly of the collective nomadic tent. But the majority of
time, we spend our nights under the night sky.
The evening, around the fire, will be the moment to share the Moritanian tales and the legends.
Through the varied landscapes of the region of the Adrar; sands in miles colors, rocks darkened by the sun, palmerais, you will learn to recognize the flora and the fauna. The sand allows easily to find the tracks of fennecs, beetles, and other animals of the desert!
The travels start near the historic city of Chinguetti. We shall take advantage of it to visit the library and these old manuscripts, the antique city and the symbolic mosque.
